Hy all together,
today i have a big problem.
My starboard lifting device of the AQ270 is running hard.
So i want to unmount it for cleaning and new grease.
Boat is a Weekender 24 twin AQ170 with stern drive 270.
i could unmount the two screws where it is fixed to the transom.
I also could unmount the motor (its running well)
But now to my problem:
i need to uninstall the control plate with the relays.
I could unmount the fixing screw bit the plate can only be turnd around but not lift up.
What i am doing wrong???
Which informations do you need?

Hi
If i remember correctly the screw #42 holds the assembly in place on the tube.
I also think the switch 26 needs to be removed to lift of the relays.
Whats your problem?
/Lars

Hy Lars,
the problem was, all the parts under the cover were coatet with a isolating wax.
After i cleaned everything, i could unmount it.
Similar to your description.
The real problem is only moved…
When i lift up the drive, it runs up to the rubber block and after that i did not run down again.
Then i lifted it a little bit more by hand and my wife pushed the down button and it goes down.
So far so good.
After that i unmounted all and put new grease in.
Now after remount everything, it not goes to the complete top position.
The motor runs and runs, but it seems that it lifts not to the top position.
Instead of this, it seems to run around in the clutch.

If the drive does not straighten out, this means that
the spring (12, Fig. 55) has poor tension. Place a washer
(part No. 955901 ) under the spring. If the drive
cannot be pressed down by hand (approx. 75 kg = 165
lb. at the fin), slacken the upper section (4) slightly. It
is not necessary to lock the upper section since the
spring thrust latches it.
