Transducer placement on 24 Weekender

I have an old speedometer sensor not used anymore. I consider using the existing hole for a new through-hull transducer.

It’s located just in front of the engine. Will this location work for a transducer?

Anything else to consider when installing a new transducer?

It will most likely work anyhow it will work at lower speeds. At higher speeds you might get bubbles that disturbed the sensor. I have about the same position for my sonar sensor on my 900 Dolphin and it works.
