Pump issue

My water pump is behaving strangely. When the water is running all is good. But when the tap is closed in the sink, the pump is making a strange sound. Like its trying to pump water.

(The sea-valve is completely open)

Hi

What you hear is that the pump switch on an off because the pressure switch indicates a low pressure like when you open the tap.
Either there is a leak in the system or it could be that there is an internal leakage inside the pump this is caused by the membranes and/or the non return valve in the pump is leaking possibly because of that the have become hard by age. It could also be the pressure switch in the pump is switching on the pump at a high pressure.

Check for leakages or renew the pump or pressure switch.
